The Delightful Chaos of Slushy Noobz
The Charming Chaos of Slushy Noobz
Strictly speaking, things didn't start out that way.

Canadian content creators Hamzah Al-Emad and Martin Andrijasevic originally just wanted to be an online gaming duo, sharing their journey of clearing levels and upgrading in various fantastical game worlds, attracting audiences who loved gaming as much as they did. But even they didn't expect that their natural chemistry, quirky humor, and love for absurd projects would gradually connect with a wider audience. In the end, Slushy Noobz became far more than they initially imagined.
It all started with a direct message.
During the pandemic, Martin was posting short skits on TikTok, and Hamzah, being a fan, messaged him. Soon after, Martin came to Toronto for an EDM festival and stayed at Hamzah's place. That's when their long-term friendship and collaboration officially began.
As for the name Slushy Noobz, it was ChatGPT's idea. The prompt was roughly: "Name a gaming channel related to the meme 'wocky slush'." And so, Slushy Noobz was born.

Hamzah told Wonderland that gaming will always be a natural part of their content because they genuinely enjoy playing games. For them, the channel reflects what they truly want to do at the moment. If at some point they want to go on adventures and try more outdoor projects, the channel's content will naturally shift accordingly.
While Slushy Noobz's content has always been rooted in live streams of games like Roblox and Minecraft, their style is hard to categorize simply. It's like contemporary YouTube comedy, with a touch of VICE's immersive and absurd documentary style. You could think of it as: Gonzo journalism, Gen Z TikTok brains, plus about six layers of ironic filters.

When watching their videos, it's often hard to tell what's performance and what's real life, and that's precisely what makes Slushy Noobz so captivating.
As their content grew in popularity, subscriber numbers rapidly increased, surpassing one million last spring.
Martin shared that the moment he realized things were different was when he quit his old job. He suddenly found himself living a dream-like life, no longer having to do a job he didn't enjoy. For Hamzah, the first real taste of success was meeting fans in person.
And now, they are meeting even more fans.
The two embarked on their first Canadian tour. However, this tour also fits the Slushy Noobz style: instead of traditional big cities, they went to nine regional stops. For them, it's a bit like adding an Anthony Bourdain-esque twist – going to unexpected places, making locals wonder, "How did they end up here?"
This tour, and the various side quests that spun off from it, also created some of their most brilliant content to date.
To enable six-hour mobile live streams in remote areas, they even rigged a massive Starlink satellite dish to the roof of their car, ensuring an internet connection even while driving on the highway. They've dressed up and performed with local can-can dance troupes, attended country rodeos, and even boarded a real lobster boat.
Suffice it to say, these two are really willing to push a bit to the extreme. Reportedly, they even trained for eight months for a boxing match.

Martin told Wonderland that their creative process is very intuitive: they do whatever comes to mind and whatever they're interested in. For example, one time Hamzah saw a video on TikTok of someone playing with police body cameras, so they decided to make a parody of a bodycam police video. Inspiration can come from anywhere on the internet, and ultimately, what they want to do is create content they are genuinely interested in.
After all, what the audience wants to see is their passionate and unpredictable side.
This BFF duo is also preparing a special project with Wildflower. However, this isn't Slushy Noobz's first foray into design. This summer, they launched a series of merchandise inspired by vintage Canadian travel apparel. One design, "Not Only Am I Cute But I'm Canadian, Too," was particularly memorable.
Simply put, you'll be seeing and hearing more of Slushy Noobz in the future.
They recently announced a new podcast, "Out of Character," in collaboration with Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network. This means fans will be able to keep up with their latest updates more regularly. The two will be touring across Canada, recording their boundless conversations from the road, potentially even while en route to stops like Prince Edward Island.
This show will also have a YouTube video version. After all, noobz never stop.
